A new Community Program by Funambol, the company I work for and who develops open source solutions for mobile synchronization and push email, has born today: its name is Lion Sniper Program, and the goal is to allow community to get revenew by helping in software language translations.

The project, named Lion from L10n (were 10 is the number of characters between ā€œLā€ž and ā€œNā€ž in the word localization), is now focused on Italian, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Arabic translations of software, online help and Funambol Community Forge. In particular, this is the list of clients who needs to be translated:

  • BlackBerry sync client
  • iPhone sync client
  • Windows Mobile email client (Smartphone and PocketPC)
  • Java ME email client
  • iPod sync client
  • Outlook sync client
  • Symbian sync client
